The Golf d'Omaha Beach was created in 1986 by Guy Dupont and designed by Yves Bureau, who has numerous golf courses in France and abroad to his credit. It is located on the coast near Bayeux and only a few kilometers from the D Landing Beaches and the American Cemetery at Colleville-sur-mer where Steven Spielberg filmed scenes from "Il Faut Sauver Le Soldat Ryan" among the 10,000 white crosses. The 36 holes present two different aspects of the local beautiful scenery. Views of the sea from the Club House at the 6th hole, whose green dominates the port of Port en Bessin, and the last 9 holes give typical landscape of the Normandy countryside with its green meadows bordered by hedges. Each year, Omaha Beach Golf welcomes thousands of overseas players thanks to its *** hotel and the Residence Pierre et Vacances.
